What is Wapka SEO
Seo simply means Search engine optimization which implies all that you can do to get your site on search engines.

So wapka SEO means,the process it takes to get your wapka site on search engines. Good! You now know what that 3 letter word means.
Before we continue,i'll like to assure you that SEO as scary as it is,it's not so tough and it's not so easy. So what you can do for me now is to get rid of all those junks some so called Geeks has been stuffing in your head.
Some say..
> Seo is so tough
> seo is no more possible
> Seo is not needed.

They're quite wrong. Though search engines can find your wapka site without you doing proper Seo,but you won't last long with them as other better optimized sites will get you knocked-off the Game.

SEO involves amending,adding and removing a few things to and from your wapka site. We're going to look at them all one by one until we're done.

1. TITLE
Title as we all know is normally at the beginnig of a write up. When we were in school,we do write compositions and each one must have a TITLE.
I can still remember my favourite's
Write a composition with the title "How i spent my x-mas Holiday.

Yeah,so title is something every written or spoken article must have. Back to wapka.
SEO requires that we add Unique titles to our sites. I said unique because,anything can be a title but not all are relevant to the content of the page.

So a unique title for your wapka site

> Must not be SPAMMY!
For example,a title like the one below is deadly:

many a times,we make this very mistake. Even to our users,it's annoying and not presentable either to search engines.

> Not more that 50-60 letters
so many times,people have asked me,How many letters should i have in my title?[b and my answer has always been "keep it between 50-60 as search engines doesn't normally display more than this.

That's it for title. Now we move over to How to add change title in wapka site..
Due to the importance of title,wapka has made it easy for us to change it. You can do so in:
Sites by going to

>Change title
then input your title in the 1st textarea.

You can also rewrite your url from digits to words with the second textarea.(this is equally good for SEO)

Forums
You can change title of forums in different ways.
> Change title of themes in forums.
-navigate to where the forum is created(site)
-ES
-Change title
-Change title for forums
and a list of forums on that page will be listed with their "ids"
-Select the forum whose title you want to change and simply put the title in the textarea that appears and click GO!

> Change title of messages in forums.
this is done with the help of Javascripts.

- add it in second box.

and then anything you use as title when creating a forum topic will be used as message in forum title

And now we move on to the next SEO strategy that involves keywords
Keywords?
What are they: they are those words,phrases,etc. That you want your wapka site to rank high for in search engines.
It's that simple!
As you can't possibly rank no.1 in google when someone searches anything ranging from dog-webdesign-cars,you've got to have some keywords cowboy.
Note: Most search engines no more pay any attention to <meta name="keywords" content="anything you can think of because you just out anything that comes to your mind!">. But it's quite ok to have them. I can't say that about not having them.
Examples of keywords: i know some of my friends might still need an extra sentence to fully understand them so let me give some examples:
> wapka
> cars
> scholarship

> wapka filelist codes
>cheap cars in canada
>scholarship for university undergraduates

yeah,they all are keywords but certainly there's a difference between the first three and the last three.
Did you notice them?
Sure.the first three are called stop words and are difficult to rank for,very difficult indeed.

The second set are called long-tail keywords. There are a couple of other names given to it by seo experts but i choos e to call it that.
This set are quite easier to rank high for and they're the ones you'll have to choose for a start so as not to get stuck!

How does targeting long-tail keywords work?
It's quite simple. Because they're long(though not really long), and they recieve less attention from searches,many of the top sites don't usually go for them so you can use them for a start and as you progress in the ladder of SEO,you can then slowly switch to the shorter ones that recieves lots of searches on Google.

Now that you know about keywords and how they work,you might be asking:
where and how do i put keywords in my wapka site?
It's equally very simple,copy this meta tag/code below and put it in your wapka site headtags:.

Where should i use my keywords?
important question,you shouldn't just put your keywords inyour wapka site meta tags and expect it to do some magic,no.

*wapka .h1, h2, and h3 headlines (and h4-h6, if you have them)
*first paragraph of text in your write up
*.in link text
*.in alternate text for images
*.scattered throughout the rest of the text on the page

use them as the need calls and keep your keyword density below or at 5% to avoid keyword stuffing

Mistakes you'll make with keywords-watch out for them!
1. Keyword stuffing.
This has to do with using your keywords unnecessarily throughout a webpage.it looks spammy and unnatural both to your users and search engines.
The best way to go around this problem is to use it naturally that is: use it if there's a need for it. And also
ask yourself: If there were no search engines,would i have used it here?
this is so far the most competent too in fighting keyword stuffing in wapka sites. If the answer is yes,then go ahead.

> Should i use keywords in my wapka site?
i'll say,since it's not harmful,go ahead and put it.

What is keyword density
keyword density simply means the apearance of your keywords in relation to that of other words,phrases and text in general.
You shouldn't exceed a certain limit which is about 5-6%. This means that,if a certain keyword appears 5 times in your write up or webpage,other texts should appear about 95 times in total. This's the simplest way to explain it. You don't need to go counting every single word.there's a solution to this:
write naturally without bearing search engines in mind. Write as tough you're wirting for a afriend of yours to read and gain some knowledge from what you're writing. That way,they'll appear where they're supposed to! I personally use this method.

Question: Should i add <meta name="keyword to every page on my wapka site?
Answer: my answer is no,it's not necessary and it can be harmful.just add it to your meta tags.

This time around am not sharing on what to put but what to remove!
Of course,"get some,loose some and you keep growing",some people will always say that.

So what are we talking about?
It's all about this question i asked,which you're asking and which thousands more will ask-Should i lock my forums in my wapka site.
that's it,i asked this question so many times but no one could give me an appropriate answer!
And i kept doing the wrong thing wjich you are currently doing.
Successful wapka Legends won't tell you that,no matter what because they know that if they do,they're staking their own share of search engine traffic but it's high time i let it go public.

You might ask why? But i've already answered above that this tut might push me down in my Google ranking but am ready to sacrifice that and give all i've learnt in my few years with wapka.

So let's go straight to the point.
Locking or restricting your forums in wapka is the no.1 SEO killer and fighter in wapka sites!

am going to explain the above sentence and why it's so. Stay with me....

Take a second and ask yourself a question,why do you lock you wapka forums?

It's simply because you want more users and members. And so what? After getting the members,what next? Display them on your Homepage? and what nex? Get more and keep racking it up.it's unending.
Am not against getting users but am just saying that they're the reasons why we lock our forums which results in poor SEO.

Why locking your wapka forums is bad for SEO
Question:What happens when an unlogged user tries to access your locked forums in wapka?.
Answer: they gets redirected to login page because they can't access it as a guest else they have to register!

And that's the problem because Googlebot and other spiders have no damn username and password to login to your site and they equally don't have any time(though they can't) to register an account in your site!

so when you lock your forums and link them to your homepage,googlebot will pick up the link and try to access them but they'll be redirected to login page and among the things that search engines's crawlers hates most are-

>Broken links

>Frames(some doubt this)

>Redirects- poor kind

Of course you did,so when the encounter your locked wapka forums,they gets redirected and they begin to develop some hatred for your site. Lols

do they have emotions? Do they think? Can they hate?

Nop,but they do that in a way.

Am sure some people still have some doubts about what i just said. Ok,let me clear them off.
About two months ago,when i started noticing some Google search traffic(GST)" that's what i call it for short" sprinkled on a few pages in my site,i was excited but at the same time worried.
Then,i asked,why is it that,i don't recieve traffic in my forums where i have most of my contents?
Just then,i noticed something. There's something similar to all the successful wapka site.  It's just that their forums are not locked. I've never taken it serious before. So i decide to go confront google in it's face
hahaha,and i did!
I navigated to google webmasters and started experimenting with it.

This is what i did
> when i got there

> i clicked "crawl"

> and selected fetch as google

> then,i put my wapka forum address

> and clicked fetch!

Guess what,to my greatest surprise,i got an error message. I looked at it for a while trying to know what it meant but i couldn't make anything out of it.
But i can recognize one thing "the word- redirect"

i quickly rushed back to my admin panel and made all my wapka forums free and i repeated the above step and this time around,it was positive.
I submitted the url and requested that it start a fresh crawl all over my sitemap.
This it did and indexed as much as it can.

I watched it with this ip-66.249.87.xx though it changes the last two.it crawled and left.

A day after that,i started noticing some more traffic. You couldn't imagine my joy and moreso because it was coming from Google! so it's pure Organic traffic(Don't know what it means? Don't worry,i'll teach you)

i started getting more and more each day and it's been like that.

What are Meta tags?

to keep it simple and straight to the point,meta tags are those codes you add to the <head>..</head> section of your wapka site.
They can only be seen and read by search engine bots so it's not meant for your users but for the search engine.
Previously,we've come accross some of them but now we'll be looking at them in full details.i.e we'll intensely observe them and their various meanings.

There are several meta tags available for use in your wapka site but most of them are not useful as search engine crawlers no more pay attention to them. So,we'll cling to the most important ones.

Below are Meta tags you should add to your wapka site Head tags and their meanings-->

<meta name="keywords" content="Keywords Separated by Comma" />
Keyword Meta tags the meta tag above is known as the "keyword meta tag". It's where the keywords for which you're aiming to rank for goes. That's very trickish because you might be tempted to stuff it with as many keywords as you wish to rank for but you can't just rank high because you wish and again,if it should exceed a certain limit,it becomes spammy. Now that limit is something we're not very clear about but top SEO geeks believe that 6-10 keyword are ok so you shouldn't go beyond that.

<meta content='chrome=1' http-equiv='X-UA- Compatible'/>
<meta content='1 days' name='revisit-after'/>.
The next Meta tag we'll be discussing is Meta name="revisit-after". Just as the name implies,it tells search engine crawlers when next to visit your site for new content. Some years back,it's one of the most important meta tags but now,it's fading out because the web keeps growing vast and search engines are competing for the nicest/most fresh content to add to their ever-growing index so they will come back always once they notice you update frequently and that's what you want.
So you might not want to put this tag in your Head tags. But just in case,add it up!

Meta name="pagerank" oh,this's a tag i won't advice you to add because like the one above,if your pagerank's 2 and you set it to 10,you're running at a risk of loosing your earned ranks so better not put it!
You might have noticed the "content" and "name" changing positions in this article. I just want to assure you that there's nothing wrong with that.

<meta content='General' name='Rating'/>
<meta content='never' name='Expires'/>
Meta name="expires".
This tag as the name "expires" implies states the validity of the content of your wapsite!
For example,if you created your site for the purpose of an ongoing promo and the promo ends in a month's time,you might want to set this tag to "1 month". By so doing,search engine crawlers will keep the count of days and remove your site from their index roughly after a month!

If you've read my tutorial all the way down to this point,you now have a good knowledge of what Meta tags stands for and how they affect SEO.

you can copy the tags and put them in your headtags via:
>Edit site
>Global settings
>Head tags
>then paste in the box you'll see there
and click Set!

That way you have installed appropriate Metatags in your wapka site.

These Meta tags,which are useful when search engine crawlers crawls through your site but don't expect them to do some magic and flood your site with traffic.
