Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted his side face a high
pressure match against Club Brugge tomorrow night.
Van Gaal's men are taking on the Belgian outfit in their Champions League playoff
tie and play the first leg at Old Trafford, where they are red hot favourites to
build a substantial lead ahead of the return match.
The Dutchman knows his club are desperate to reach the Champions League
group stage, but also feels the Club Brugge tie carries much pressure because of
that fact.
"There's a lot of pressure because our aim and goal is to reach the Champions
League group stage. These kind of matches are difficult" , he told a press
conference.
"Brugge can defend very well. They can attack also, so it shall be a difficult match.
That is why the pressure is high" , Van Gaal added.
"The board, the players and the fans want to participate [in Europe], so the pressure
is high. We have to show our quality against a good team, but it is not an easy
game" , he added.
Manchester United missed out on playing in the Champions League last season
after finishing just seventh in the Premier League the season before.
Last term Van Gaal guided the Red Devils to a finish of fourth in the Premier
League, securing Manchester United's spot in the playoff round of the Champions
League.
