Yaya Toure insists Manchester City can still win the Premier League title despite losing 2-1 to
Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
Manchester City enjoyed the better of the possession from the off, but struggled to really hurt
Arsenal and create clear-cut chances.
And against the run of play Arsenal took the lead, Theo Walcott cutting inside from the flank
and unleashing a shot past Joe Hart in the Manchester City goal in the 33rd minute.
Arsenal then made it 2-0 on the stroke of half time through Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman took
advantage of poor defending from Eliaquim Mangala to hit a low shot into the goal.
Manchester City picked up their performance as the second half wore on though and gave
themselves hope in the 82nd minute.
The ball came to Toure on the edge of the penalty area and he hit a pinpoint shot into the top
corner to make it 2-1.
Manchester City then put Arsenal under pressure, Wilfried Bony going close, but as Arsenal
adopted a defensive approach, the Citizens could not find a way through again and lost 2-1.
Now Manchester City are in third and four points behind second placed Arsenal, though Toure
is still confident they can overtake the Gunners and league leaders Leicester City.
"In the end we were unlucky. We had a couple of chances and it is disappointing. Arsenal counter-
attacked very quick - it is tough to take" , he told Sky Sports.
"We played very well, it's not easy to control the game at Arsenal. They took their chances, Theo
Walcott scored a great goal.
"But the league is not finished yet.
"We showed a couple of years ago that we can win the league from behind.
"We will get all the players fit and try to do the business", Toure added.
