Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc is a firm fan of Angel di Maria, but
believes signing the winger from Manchester United will be very difficult.
Di Maria appeared set to join PSG last summer, but UEFA's financial fair play
regulations made a deal impossible to complete for the French champions.
As a result Manchester United stole in and reached an agreement with Real
Madrid, paying £59.7m to sign the Argentine, smashing the British transfer
record.
With UEFA's restrictions lifted, PSG are again on Di Maria's trail, but Blanc has
struck a cautious note when it comes to signing the winger.
"We have priorities, but to improve such a team, you have to target the big boys who
play at the big clubs and they are not easy to attract" , he told L'Equipe , when asked
about Di Maria.
"That is the hardest thing for PSG.
"Di Maria, he's good.
"We have more freedom today, but it's still a difficult issue because we're not the
only ones.
"When I see the financial power of the English clubs, they attack everything at every
club. The competition is very, very tough.
"Do not forget that Manchester United paid a fortune to take [Di Maria].
"For us we must work well and also think of other solutions. We must anticipate."
Di Maria has also been linked with Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich this summer
amid suggestions Manchester United may be willing to deal over the Argentina
international for the right price.
He made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils last term, scoring
four goals.
