Torino defender Emiliano Moretti believes his former team-mate Matteo Darmian
is fully deserving of his move to Manchester United this summer.
Darmian has been snapped up by the Red Devils for an initial €18m, with a further
€2m to come depending upon his performances at Old Trafford.
While losing the Italy international right-back is a big blow, Moretti, who operates
in the centre of Torino's defence, believes the move is fully deserved.
"He deserves the opportunity and has all the qualities to do well at that club" , the
defender told Sky Italia .
"I am sure that he will take advantage of the opportunity that he has been given" , he
added.
"He's always involved in the game and has grown so much in recent years, so I'm
convinced that he will do well in Manchester."
Darmian has put pen to paper on a four-year contract with an option for a further
year at Manchester United.
He is currently with Louis van Gaal's men on the Red Devils' pre-season tour of
the United States, an opportunity to impress his new manager that he will want to
take ahead of the start of the new Premier League campaign next month.
