Jack Wilshere says he is feeling better every day as he builds up to the new
Premier League season with Arsenal.
Wilshere missed a chunk of last season after picking up an ankle injury in a clash
against Manchester United, something which continued a pattern of injury troubles
which have dogged the England international in recent years.
The midfielder clocked up 45 minutes of football in Arsenal's Barclays Asia Trophy
final victory over Everton on Saturday and insists he is feeling fitter by the day.
"I’m feeling good" , Wilshere explained to his club's official site.
"I’ve been back in training for two weeks now. I’ve played two games and there are
another two games coming up next weekend after another tough week of training, so
I’m feeling good" , Wilshere continued, before praising Arsenal's fitness coaches
and the impact they have.
"I think you feel better day by day. The fitness staff here are really good. They make
the sessions individualised, so they know what you need in your position.
"Each session gets harder and harder. I’m feeling better and better and hopefully that
can continue."
Arsenal have now flown back to England as they prepare to step up their pre-
season preparations by hosting the Emirates Cup at the Emirates Stadium, a
tournament which includes Villarreal, Wolfsburg and Lyon.
They will then lock horns with Chelsea in the Community Shield.
