Eligibility: Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria: -Students should be undertaking your first undergraduate degree; -Students should be a home fee status student domiciled in Wales; -Students should be undertaking an undergraduate programme in law(all UG law programmes) for 2013 entry; -have an assessed household income of £18,370 pa or less; -Students should be in receipt of the maximum Welsh Assembly Learning Grant (£5,161); -have taken up your maximum entitlement to UK government help with tuition fees and loans/grants for living costs; -Students must have given Student Finance Wales ‘consent’ to share your financial information with the College; -have ‘firmly’ accepted an offer of a place at King’s on an eligible programme.

Scholarship Open for International Students: The students of UK (home fee status student domiciled in Wales) can apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship Description: King’s will be offering one new annual Tynybedw Law Bursary worth £25,000 each to Welsh-domiciled students successfully applying for entry in September 2013.  The Tynybedw Law Bursary was founded by Mr Geraint Hughes, a law alumnus of King’s College London and partner at Clifford Chance. As someone who values his time studying at King’s, Mr Hughes would like support certain students at King’s, enabling them to begin their own legal careers. This bursary will provide selected students with sufficient funding to cover a significant proportion of the cost of attending university and is aimed at giving the recipients the opportunity to study law at King’s.

Duration of award(s): Scholarship is offered for 3 years.

What does it cover? Scholarships are worth £25,000 each, payable over 3 years. This means that you will receive £8,000 in your 1^st and 2^nd years and £9,000 in your 3^rd and final year (repeat years or breaks in study will not be funded), and will be dependent upon continued satisfactory academic progress and attendance. The scholarship will be made available as a cash bursary.
