Scholarship Description: Within the Manufacturing Engineering department at AIRBUS Toulouse, the topic of this thesis will relate to a simulation of the effect of cooling after hot forming of titanium alloys on the internal constraints and final geometry of parts. There are now software applications for heat treatment simulation which were developed for materials other than titanium alloys. Using this as a basis, the aim is to develop a tool for simulation of part cooling after unloading which, when joined with the existing forming simulation tools, will allow us to anticipate and control deformations related to this unloading. The goal set is not to obtain a minimum stress state in the blank but a stress state compatible with the minimum amount of part deformation in an overall process.
