President of Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria (CRCN), Mallam Shehu Sani, has said the fallout of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, poll indicates that the nation is heading to crisis in 2015.
Warning that Nigeria is likely to experience what happened in Ivory Coast if urgent steps are not taken, Sani said the situation where the Federal Government and Governor Jonah Jang cannot accept an election of 36 people leaves everyone with how government will accept the result of an election involving millions of Nigerians.
His words: “If care is not taken, Nigeria will end up in a situation where Ivory Coast has found itself. Nigeria is on the road to Abidjan in term of what the future portends. So, it is condemnable where Governor Jang is playing the devil’s advocate, it is very clear that Jang is transferring his disharmony and discord from state to national level.
“Governor Jang is nothing but a satellite of President Goodluck Jonathan and people like him are posing serious danger for acceptable elections in 2015. If President Jonathan and his men couldn’t agree with simply a small free and fair election like the NGF’s, what will become of the general elections? I think we are heading to crisis.”
