I'm not the core chatting type. I opted for Dingtone because of their USA phone number. If you want to use Dingtone for other things not related to their phone number, it is totally free. However, if you need your own phone number for either USA, UK, Belgium, Canada or Netherlands, you need to buy at least 100 Dingtone credits which cost around $2 to own the line for a year. You can pay with your ATM/credit/debit card and if you can purchase 500 Dingtone calling credits which cost around $10, you will get your USA number for free. Alternatively, you can earn free Dingtone credits with which you can buy their premium services by checking into the application daily, by completing sponsored offers within the application, by watching video ads and by inviting friends to join the service.

Final Thoughts
It's worthy of note that Dingtone offers many services. However, what made me an instant fan was their custom phone number. I have no regrets patronizing them and I have also made calls through to several users free of charge. The phone number you will receive from them will be fully functional and you can forward it to your local line. Even when you are offline, you will receive your call, SMS immediately you get back online. I have also earned some credits up to 100 free of charge by performing their promo task.
