Every child deserves a chance to be introduced to the wealth of knowledge gained through the written language. It should begin early, ideally in the warm and loving atmosphere of a home. One way to do that is by FLASHING:
# Select 20 sight words.
# Display and say each word quickly and clearly. The eye will see the word as a unit.
# Now have your child read it to you.
# If your child hesitates you will provide the word immediately (this is key) and the card will be placed in the back. Make sure to tell your child what will happen.
# Also, print 10 words with the sound of oo such as: zoo, school, scoop, moon etc. Print the words in black but the oo in each word in red. Now flash.
*You need to know: your young child will need both sight words and phonics.
*Instead of making flash cards you can always purchase them elsewhere such as the lifelongreading online store
