ABOUT PROFESSOR WOLE SOYINKA:
Professor Wole Soyinka (born 13 july 1934) was one of the brains behind the formation of the National Association of Seadogs, Pyrates Confraternity.
He was barely 18 years old when he decided to join hands with like minds to float the first deck.
    He remains active within the Confraternity and serves as its lifetime chairman and patron.
 "Wole Soyinka is a Nigerian writer,poet and playwright.
    Some consider him Africa's most distinguished playwright,as he won the Noble Prize in Literature in 1986,the first African so honoured. He recieved a Primary Schoool Education in Abeokuta and attended Secondary School at Government College, Ibadan. He then studied at the University College, Ibadan (1952 - 1954) and the University of Leeds (1954 - 1957) from which he recieved an honours degree in English Literature. He worked as a play reader at the Royal Court Theatre in London before returning to Nigeria to study African drama.
   He taught in the Universities of Lagos, Ibadan, and Ife."
   Wole Soyinka was the first captain of the Pyrate Confraternity. He was the one who first came up with the idea to form the fraternity and suggested the idea to Olumuyiwa Awa. Wole Soyinka and Olumuyiwa Awe were friends from their days at the Government College, Ibadan.
   Wole Soyinka,Olumuyiwa Awe and Pius Oleghe were all classmates at the University of Ibadan. Nathaniel Oyelola was a year senior to Soyinka, Awe and  Olegha. Sylvanus Egbuche was about two years junior to Soyinka, Awe and Olegha. Ralph Okpara came from Government College, Umuahia and Ikpehare Aig-Imoukhuede came from igbobi College, Lagos.
   These  seven founding fathers started the Pyrates Confraternity in University of Ibadan
(then University College,Ibadan).
