As we gear up for the 2020 JAMB CBT exam, candidates are to note that there are items they are not allowed to bring to the exam hall. According to JAMB, this is to ensure that the Board's examinations meet the best global practice. Candidates who bring any of these items to the hall would be disallowed from taking the UTME.

Candidates are hereby required to properly examine the list and take note of the prohibited items, in order to avoid complications during the UTME exercise.

Below is the complete list of Prohibited Items listed by JAMB

Watches
Pen/Biro
Mobile Phones or Similar Electronic Devices
Spy Reading Glasses Which Should be Scrutinized
Calculators or Similar Electronic Devices
USB, CD, Hard Disk, and or Similar Storage Devices
Books and Any Reading/Writing Material
Cameras
Recorders
Microphones
Ear Pieces
Ink/Pen Readers
Smart Lenses
Smart Rings/Jewellry
Smart Buttons
Bluetooth Devices
Key Holders
ATM Cards
Erasers
Also, where examination official (board staff or ad hoc staff) or any authorized person is found with any of these prohibited items in the examination hall, such compromising action would be treated as a deliberate act of examination sabotage and necessary sanction will be applied

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and Federal Government has reached an agreement to integrate the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) into the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS). following the meeting between the two parties yesterday.

The IPPIS is the government’s accountability software that has been made compulsory for all public institutions, mainly for personnel payroll. ASUU is opposed to the use of IPPIS for lecturers saying it does not consider some of the peculiar operations of universities. The lecturers’ union then developed its own UTAS which it wants the government to adopt for universities.

The outcome of the meeting was made known by the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, after a four-hour meeting between both parties.

Mr Ngige said the two parties will reconvene on Monday after the ASUU delegation deliberates with its National Executive Council (NEC).

When contacted, the National President of ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi, said the National Executive Committee of the union will review the conditions for the integration of UTAS into IPPIS.

“From the discussion we had, we have agreed that we will go and consult. We cannot pronounce on the proposals that came up until we consult with our members. We will leave it there for now.” He stated.

When asked if the strike would be suspended, the ASUU president said he could not make any pronouncement until he consulted with other members.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has disclosed that a total of 1,434,632 candidates have so far registered for its ongoing 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME and Direct Entry. The board also said the closing date for the registration remained February 17 and charged prospective candidates not yet registered to take advantage of the remaining days to do so.

JAMB, also warned Computer-Based Test, CBT, centres against turning away candidates who obtained ePINS elsewhere.

According to JAMB, this warning became necessary following a series of complaints received by the board that some centres are turning away candidates simply because they did not obtain their ePins from such centres.”

The board called on all accredited CBT centres to comply with the rules of engagement in order not to attract any sanction.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB) has concluded arrangement for the conduct Mock Examination slated for 18th February 2020 nationwide. The Mock examination is at no cost to the candidates except the N600 payable to the private centre owners for candidates posted to centres not owned by JAMB.

Candidates can print their mock examination slips that are available online now to know when and where to take the examination.

The Mock Examination helps candidates to be in tune with the rudiments of the Computer Based Test (CBT). It also helps the Board test its facilities with a view to having a hitch-free examination.

It is important to note that results from the Mock Examination would not be added or have any effect in the main examination. The Board also wishes to state that the era of regularisation or condonment of illegal admissions is over.

JAMB has now activated the portal for the printing of UTME 2020 Mock exam slip. Candidates, who indicated interest to write the Mock Exam during the early registration period, can now print their exam slip for the mock exam, which is expected to hold on February 18th, 2020. The mock exam slip will indicate the venue and time of the exam for eligible candidates.

We advise all those who are eligible for the Mock Exam to also check their emails (including junk/SPAM Folder) as JAMB may also email the mock exam schedule.

JAMB 2020 Mock Exam Slip Printing Has Begun -  See Guidelines
Nevertheless, we have provided guidelines for candidates to print their Mock exam slips directly from the JAMB portal. See the details below;

Steps to Check and Reprint JAMB Mock Exam Slip

Visit the checking portal via this link; https://www.jamb.org.ng/ExamSlipPrinting1/PrintMockExaminationSlip
Enter your JAMB Reg. No or Email in the space provided, and click "Print Examination Slip".
When the Exam Slip is revealed to you, go ahead and print it.

The JAMB 2020 UTME/DE registration will end on February 17th, 2020. What many candidates may not know is that the sales of ePIN will close before the registration. To be exact, the sales of ePIN will close on February 14th, 2020.

This means that if you do not get the JAMB e-PIN on or before February 14th (for candidates yet to register), you will not be able to register for 2020 UTME/DE despite the fact that the actual registration deadline is February 17th. No accredited CBT registration centre will accept your request for UTME/DE registration without an e-PIN.

JAMB 2020 Sales of UTME/DE e-PIN Closes February 14th
We, therefore, urge all candidates who are interested in registering for the 2020 UTME/DE but are yet to purchase the JAMB 2020 E-PIN to ensure they do so on or before February 14th, 2020.
