Theory-Answers

SECTION A
(1a)
(i)Source of Livelihood: The main source livelihood of many people is agriculture. Approximately 70 % of the people directly rely on agriculture as a mean of living.

(ii)Contribution to National revenue: Agriculture is the main source of national income for most developing countries. However, for the developed countries, agriculture contributes a smaller per cent age to their national income.

(iii)Supply of Food as well as Fodder: Agricultural sector provides fodder for domestic animals. Cow provides people with milk which is a form of protective food. Moreover, livestock also meets people’s food requirements.

(iv)Significance to the International Trade: Agricultural products like sugar, tea, rice, spices, tobacco, coffee etc. constitute the major items of exports of countries that rely on agriculture. If there is smooth development practice of agriculture, imports are reduced while export increases considerably.

(v)Source of Raw Material; The main source of raw materials to major industries such as cotton and jute fabric, sugar, tobacco, edible as well as non-edible oils is agriculture. Moreover, many other industries such as processing of fruits as well as vegetables and rice husking get their raw material mainly from agriculture.

(1b)
(i)Land tenure system: The type of land tenure system (communual) does not allow for large farm holdings suitable for mechanisation.

(ii)Scattered farm holdings: Scattered farm holdings are also not conducive or economical for mechanisation, especially in Nigeria.

(iii)Poverty of farmers: Most farmers, especially in Nigeria are very poor and cannot afford the cost tractors and farm implements.

(iv)Inadequate facilities (machinery): The facilities or machinery for fabricating and repairing farm implements are grossly insufficient where they are available.

(v)Bad topography: The topography of most Nigeria landscape is too rough and unconducive for farm mechanisation.

(1c)
(i)Inadequate finance
(ii)Poor infrastructure
(iii)Land tenure system
(iv)Poor technical support
(v)Unpredictable weather
(viPoor disease control methodology

(3aii)
(i)Biotic component
(ii)Abiotic component

(3b)
(i)Industrial use
(ii)Construction purpose

(3ci)
(i)It does not include any fossil deposits.
(ii)Most of the igneous forms include more than one mineral deposit.
(iii)They can be either glassy or coarse.
(iv)These usually do not react with acids.

(3cii)
(i)sandstone
(ii)Limestone

(3d)
(i)helps to grow agricultural crops, and maintain landscapes.
(ii)helps to grow agricultural revegetate disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of less than average rainfall.
(iii)it also help in controlling the amount of water can be supplied through artificial means such as pipes, ditches, sprinklers etc.
(iv)It also help plant absorb mineral nutrients from the irrigated soil. In other words it is essential for the general growth of the plant.

SECTION C
(5ai)
Crop Improvement Is The Breeding Of New Varieties Of Crop That Will Perform Better Than The. Older Ones

(5aii)
(i)To improve the quality of produce.
(ii)To increase crop yield.
(iii)To adapt crops to adverse climatic conditions.
(iv)To induce resistance to pests and diseases in crop plants.
(v)To conserve land. resources.

(5b)
(i)Use of prepared beds.
(ii)Use of nylon bags.

(5c)
(i)population growth
(ii)land availability
(iii)Farm labour supply

SECTION D
(8a)
(i)It helps in saving the feed and water.
(ii)It brings about uniformity of the stock.
(iii)It reduces the cost of production and increases the farmer’s profit.

(8b)
(i)they are grazed by domestic livestock or wild animals.
(ii)Rangelands primarily native vegetation
(iii)Rangelands do not include forests lacking grazable understory vegetation.

(8c)
(i)Completely drain water from pond
(ii)Remove any fish and other organisms
(iii)Remove debris / weed / silt accumulation

SECTION E
(9ai)
-Farmily Labour-
(i)It is cheap
(ii)Farm size are usually small

(9aii)
-Working Capital-
(i)Short-Term Needs
(ii)Circular Movement

(9b)
(i)Shortage of supply; This is because lowered prices can lead to a sudden rise in demand that many producers may find very hard to meet. Ultimately, it can lead to very high demand that causes an increase in prices.
(ii)Difficulty in measuring success; if the government were to make a report of its success in Agricultural production subsidies, it would be a different story. This is because it is hard to quantify the success of subsidies.
(iii)Higher taxes; the government raise funds to the farms and Agricultural production agency to use for subsidizing industries? Of course, by imposing higher taxes. So, it is the people who provide the means to enable the government to subsidize industries.
(iv)market cycle towards farm subsidies; Raising the income while prices are rising will eventually raise commercial and industrial costs, causing the final products to lose their competitiveness in the international market.

(9c)
(i)Directs and coordinates worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, chemical application, harvesting, grading, payroll, and record keeping.
(ii)Contracts with farmers or independent owners for raising of crops or for management of crop production.
(iii)Coordinates growing activities with those of engineering, equipment maintenance, packing houses, and other related departments.

(9d)
(i)This strategy improves the understanding of complex skills and principles.
(ii)Students can pay their attention and follow along with the learning process.
(iii)Knowledge becomes permanent because this method requires different human senses.
(iv)Students are motivated to study and gain necessary skills.
(v)The psychomotor objective is easily achieved through this method.

Therefore molar mass =1+14+(16*3)=15+48=63g/mol¹

Molarity of A = gram con/molar mass
CA=10/63=0.1587mol/dm3

(1bii)
Using CAVA/CBVB =Na/NB
With reacting equation ; HNO³ + NaOH---NaNO3+H2O
nA=1 nB=1
0.1587*15.26/CB*25.00=1/1
25CB=0.1587*15.26
CB=0.1587*15.26/25
CB=0.09687mol/dm³

(1biii)
B is NaOH
Molar mass
23+16+1=40g/mol
Conc of B in g/dm³=molarity * molar mass
= 0.09687*40
=3.8748g/dm³

(1biv)
No of moles present in 250cm³ of NaOH is =molar conc * volume
=0.09687*250/1000
=0.0242moles
Mole ratio of NaOH and NaNO3 is 1;1
No; of mole of NaNO3 which reacted is 0.0242
Mass of NaNO3 formed =molar mass * no; of moles
=85*0.0242
=2.05grams

Smile 4G LTE Unlimited Plan is Subject to a Secret “FAIR USAGE” policy.
I think there was a meeting at Smile Communications HQ where it was agreed that they will offer customers Unlimited Internet plan for 19,800 Naira but it would actually be 80GB for that price.

That’s the fair usage policy Smile NG did not tell me about at point of purchase. If they did, i wouldn’t have subscribed to 4 days of Unlimited internet because that’s how fast i exceeded 80GB. I guess ignorance of the law is no excuse.

Once you exceed that set Maximum, your Smile NG 4G LTE upload / download speeds would drop from the promised 21Mbps to 30Kbps – which is as good as Dial up internet. There’s no greater punishment than slow internet.
You can still access Google, Facebook, check your email but just forget about downloads or watching of videos when FUP is applied. Who that one Epp?

According to the Smile Knowledge base:
Yes, FUP applies to all Smile unlimited data access plans.

Webmaster and Wapmaster / Top Rated Nigerian Webhosting Companies
« on: March 14, 2020, 11:19:55 am »
Nigerian Webhosting Companies – This article is a guide on the top Nigerian Webhosting Companies. There are many things involved in owning and running a successful website. One of such thing, as you may already have known, is a web hosting.

However, a Webhosting is not just one of the things you may need, it is the basic requirement to run a website. What I mean is simple: without a web host, you cannot host your website.

Consider it this way, you cannot build a house in the sky. There has to be a land that can carry your house. The same thing goes for a website.

Every website is definitely built or hosted on web hosting. Note the word “every.” Some people may say that they have a website without acquiring any web hosting.

That may be true, but not entirely true. They may own a free website, but it is entirely hosted. The only difference is that it is hosted for them free.

For example, one popular free blogging platform that a lot of bloggers, especially Nigerian bloggers are using today is the Blogger or Blogspot platform.

If you are quite familiar with that platform, you will know that not only is it owned by the almighty Google, it is also hosted by then.

This means that any site you create on that platform is hosted by Google freely for you. My point is, there is no website without hosting.

There are many web hosting companies in the world today. Some are great, while others are manageable. The catch is, the best of the best are usually foreign web hosting companies that are usually very expensive to afford.

Examples of such foreign web hosting companies are , Bluehost, Godaddy, HostGator, etc. Hosting your website with these companies are great, however, not many can really afford to host their websites with them.

The reason is like I said earlier. They are very expensive. For a newbie blogger in Nigeria, who is just starting out with blogging, and not yet making any money from his or her blog, using any of those foreign web hosting companies might not be a recommended approach.

Does that, therefore, mean you shouldn’t venture into blogging in Nigeria if you cannot afford the foreign web hosting companies?

Definitely not. I mean, there are Nigeria web hosting companies that are also very great and affordable too. Yes, there are.

4 Things to Consider Before and After Getting a Personal Loan.

Getting a Personal Loan – A personal loan is a kind of installment loan, in which you will get money from a particular bank or other lender and pay it back at a stipulated period of months or as agreed.

Most at times, the period required to pay off the debt may take up to two or five years while the interest rate is usually fixed over the entire life of the loan.

Maybe you are running into a financial problem and you think that acquiring a personal loan is the best way for you to borrow money, then I will advise you to consider the following things that we will discuss on this page below taking a step forward.

Types of Personal Loans
As for me, I don’t think that personal loans should be categorized into any type but howbeit, personal loans have been classified into two different types which are;

Secured Personal Loans
Unsecured Personal Loans
Let’s take a look at what the two terms stand for before making a choice.

1. Secured Personal Loans

This is a type of loan that you will offer the bank something of value as collateral, such as your house, car, or the cash in a CD or savings account.

However, secured personal loans is rarely practiced.

NOTE: Failure to make your payments will lead to the bank seizing your collateral to pay off the loan.

2. Unsecured Personal Loans

This type of loan does not require any form of collateral, rather, the bank or lender will check how much you have make in the last months to know if you are qualified for the loan or not.

This is the most practice type of personal loan but it riskier for the bank, they tend to come with higher interest rates.

4 Things to Do Before and After Getting a Personal Loan

1. Make Sure the Lender Is Legit
There are a few simple ways to sort out a real personal loan offer from a scam. First, make sure the lender is registered in your state. You can find this information on the lender’s website or by contacting your state attorney general’s office.

Also, watch out for obvious red flags. If the lender’s website isn’t secure or doesn’t provide a street address, that’s a sign the business is fake.

Other warning signs include a lender who doesn’t check your credit history, asks you to pay the origination fee with a prepaid debit card, or pressures you to apply today because it’s a limited-time offer.

2. Compare Multiple Offers
Before taking out a personal loan, compare offers from multiple lenders. Most lenders will let you check out their estimated rates and fees before you actually apply.

Don’t just look for the lowest APR; compare the total cost of the loan, including fees. To save time, consider visiting an online loan marketplace, such as NerdWallet’s, where you can compare loan offers from different lenders at a glance.

3. Make Sure You Can Afford It
Remember, when you take out a personal loan, you’re committing to pay it back on time. If you fail to meet the payments, you could lose your collateral or end up in court. So, before you sign on the dotted line, check your personal budget and make sure you can afford to make the monthly payments.

4. Keep It Short
Longer-term loans sometimes look more affordable than short-term ones. The monthly payments are lower because you’re spreading them out over a longer period, and the interest rates are usually lower as well.

However, in most cases, the longer you spend making payments on your loan, the more you’ll pay in interest altogether. In the long run, you’re better off taking out the shortest-term loan you can manage the payments on.

5. Pay It Off Promptly
If your loan does not have a prepayment penalty, you can save on interest by paying it off faster. You can make extra payments whenever you have some spare cash, or just tack a little extra on to every monthly payment.

Also, check to see whether the lender is willing to offer you a small discount on the interest for enrolling in paperless billing or autopay.

Please leave a comment and share!!! Thanks

We all know that things nowadays are not easy and sometimes our parents may run out of finances to help us out. Certainly, there are a whole lot of needs and responsibilities but limited resources, this insufficiency of fund can affect every area of our life including the educational area.

Here today, I will show you how you can loan money to further your education through NELNET student loans. I will not only tell you about this loan, but I will do well to show you the basics on how to apply and possibly its requirements.

Types of Loans Available
♦ Federal Student Loans
Anybody attending a four-year college or university, community college, or career school can apply for federal student assistance, plus: Scholarships, that don’t  need a refund + Work-study, which is part-time work that permits students to get money while in school; and  Federal student loans

Most federal assistance are deliberated centered on financial need. Students must submit the FAFSA and meet numerous other basic eligibility requirements to be suitable.

Parents may also apply for federal student loans, with the name Federal PLUS Loans. These type of loans can also be applied to the student’s educational charges.

♦ Direct Stafford Loans
Almost all students are qualified for a Stafford Loan, regardless of credit. Whether the loan is subsidized or unsubsidized depends on financial need, as defined by the FAFSA.

Direct Stafford Loans are usually the first type of loan borrowed once scholarship, grant, and work-study options have been drained.

There are two sorts of Stafford Loans:  and they are subsidized and unsubsidized. Interest on subsidized loans is normally paid by the government while still in school.

In the meantime, you are accountable for paying the interest that accrues on unsubsidized loans while you’re in school. If you don’t pay on the interest while you’re in school, it’s joined to your principal balance (capitalized) when you graduate or drop below half-time status.

Benefits:
No payments needed while registered in school at least half-time and generous borrowing limits dependent on years in school and degree status.

Loan limits:
Stafford loan amounts rises each year you are in school.

♦ Direct PLUS Loans for Parents
Eligibility is dependent on an honest credit check. A seconder may be needed if the borrower has opposing credit. Some schools need that a FAFSA is finished before a PLUS loan can be given, but some do not.

Parents may select to offset the cost of higher education by procuring loans to help pay for those expenditures.

Benefits:
PLUS loans can help fix the educational expenses not met by federal student aid. Furthermore, parents can defer payment on loans until after the student’s graduation. As these loans are not need-based, parents don’t need to show a monetary need to apply.

♦ GradPLUS Loans for Graduate and Professional Students
A modest credit check is needed for this type of loan. An endorser may be required if the borrower has opposing credit.

This loan is precisely for students seeking a graduate or professional degree.

Benefits:
This loan is alike to the parent PLUS loan because it can cover the overall amount needed for education and education-related expenditures, not including other aid awarded, and payments may be suspended (deferred) until after graduation.

How to Apply for Nelnet Student Loan
In order to get federal financial aid, students must complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 of each year they plan to attend school.

Parents are able to apply for a PLUS loan by finishing a Direct PLUS Loan application and Master Promissory Note (MPN), and the school’s financial aid office can offer extra instructions. The office may also provide the choice of completing the PLUS application and MPN online at StudentLoans.gov.
