Nekede poly honors 3, graduates 15,000
The Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri Imo State has honoured three prominent Nigerians in appreciation of their immense contributions to the institution.
The awardees of Fellow of Federal Polytechnic Nekede (FFPN) include a frontline industrialist and Chief Executive Officer of Sykobin Investments Ltd, Okenze Sylvester Obinna, Hajiya Maryam Ladi Ibrahim, first Auditor-General of Kogi State and Chief Frank Nneji, ace transporter and MD/CEO of Associated Bus Company(ABC Transport) .
The awardees were honoured during the occasion of the 17th convocation ceremony of the institution at pavilion.
In her address, the Rector Federal Polytechnic Dr. Mrs. Celestina Njoku announced 15,000 graduates from both National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) levels.
She said the number covers 2010/2011 and the just concluded 2011/2012 academic year which implies that the polytechnic is up to date with the graduation of students.
Expressing her appreciation to the Minister for her love to the institution, Dr.Njoku said that the upgrading of the hostel and academic facilities on campus, laboratories, workshop, studios, classrooms and other learning facilities have received consistent attention through renovation of existing ones.
