18 students graduated with first class honours at the maiden convocation ceremony of the Federal University, Oye (FUOYE), Ekiti.
The convocation ceremony began on Monday, April 24 and ended on Saturday, April 29.
In his address, Kayode Soremekun, vice chancellor, said he would strive to make the university a self-sustaining institution of knowledge.
Soremekun said the university, which was established six years ago, has been ranked 14th best university in Nigeria by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Idakwo, president, council of Kogi state traditional chiefs, pleaded with the federal government to increase budgetary allocation to tertiary institutions in the country.
He said the present economic recession should not be used as an excuse not to fund universities adding that attempts to underfund univeristies will jeopardise the future of the country.
Idakwo was awarded a honorary doctor of science degree.
