Examination bodies such as the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO) would soon start to set examinations for secondary school students in line with the new Senior Secondary Schools curricular released by the National Educational and Development Council (NERDC).
This hint was dropped by the Executive Director of NERDC, Professor Godswill Obioma, on Friday in Benin City at an advocacy workshop for Science and Technology and Mathematics (STM) Desk Officers in states Ministries of Education from the 36 states of the federation and Abuja on the use of the new Senior Secondary Education Science and Mathematics Curricula.
Obioma said as part of the strategic plan for the development of education, key areas of Science and Technology and Vocational Education have been identified so as to meet the ideals of the National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS), Vision 20; 2020 and the current administration’s transformation agenda.
